But at least being able to write it all down, and knowing that you are reading and following along with us really, sincerely helps. We feel supported, knowing that you are wishing us well, and happy for us! So, thank you.
Now. Something else that would happen if we were seeing people, hanging out and talking with them, is that we would hear travel stories. I have never been to England, and honestly don’t know much about the place. But many of you do, and I would love to hear what you loved, what was different, what was challenging, etc. Please share! If you have a particular travel story you’d like to share, I think it would be a lot of fun to publish it here as a separate post on my blog. In that case, just contact me!
And once again, thank you, friends, for traveling along with us!

You must take the time to see Shackelford, England (Sheffield), and let Auntie Anita give you the Oxford tour! We wish we were there long enough to see a lot more!

Wow, last time I checked out your blog you lived still in Amberg…seems like a lot has happened. All the best for your big move to England!

I would deliberately go to England. I Love the People – they are so friendly and have such great Sense of humor. And Cambridge and the countryside is really lovely. Everything is terrible expensive there but One can get along. I also Love their Food malls like the Marks and Spencer One and you can never go wring with the Marks and Spencer affordable Classic wool Sweaters and cardigans in all Price quality ranges and colours. And These bookstores – New and used book stores! And I am a tea Kober and like it that the kettle in the home is always on and everything can be solved over a cup of tea.
Aushing you the best on your new adventure!

Thank you Yvonne for the well wishes, and all of the things for me to look forward to about England! It is so fun to be collecting snippets now of what to anticipate and experience there in a few short months– definitely looking forward to a visit to Marks and Spencer!

Hello, just been reading bits and pieces of your blog and it sounds as if you have an adventurous life! I’m originally from CA but have lived in the UK for about 8 years(my husband is British). I have a son almost 4 and a daughter just turned 2 and I live near York. I didn’t see which part of England you will be living in but if I could answer any questions feel free to email me ([email protected]). England is a great country and I am sure you will enjoy it. Don’t forget to visit your local library as they always have information about events going on, play groups, etc. Also, usually every church has a play group once a week which is a great way to meet other mums and you don’t need to attend the church either. Good luck, Jocelyn

Hi Jocelyn, thank you so much for introducing yourself, and for the helpful information. I will keep your email handy, for sure! We will be in Suffolk, most likely Bury St. Edmund. Love the tip about the libraries!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. How fun to find another family moving to England this summer. I’ve been there before but only for a short holiday pre-kids. So it will be quite an adventure. Looking forward to following along as you make the big move.

Oh goodness, there are so many great places to visit in England it would take hours to list them all. I’ve been there seven times since my first trip in 1984. Just a couple of big highlights would be York, James Herriot country (North Yorkshire Dales), Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Oxford & Cambridge, London (of course!) for the little secret hidden bits and so much history, the black & white villages near the Welsh border, Wales!, St. Ives in Cornwall, Winchester (where Jane Austen died), Stow-on-the-Wold…. too many to name really. I’m green with envy that you are living there!
