On our first trip to London, we left at dusk. We were still so in awe of the city, that we didn’t mind too much being stuck in traffic on our way out– there was still so much to see! But there was something that drove me absolutely crazy. As traffic started to speed up, and the sun fell below the horizon, I saw the most incredible homes! I could make out what looked like conservatories on the top story, and they were unlike anything I’d ever seen before.
So the next time we went to London, I made sure that we left well before sunset, so I could take a closer look and share them with you! These were just taken out the window of a moving car. I SO wish I could see these homes on the inside!

I just love all of the wonderful architectural details all over the outsides of these buildings.

Can you imagine having a window like this in your living room? I think I’d pull up a table and make it my eating nook.

And here is how the lower level looks– also super interesting and ornate!

Well, they sure don’t make ’em like they used to, do they?!
I’ve always dreamt of having windows like this in my home…. A library, floor to ceiling bookcases on the other walls, and a giant, comfy chair you can just sink into right next to the window.
Oh, so very dreamy! I like your vision for a place like these!
Ah I love these! I’ve seen them so many times on my way in and out of London, and I think they are amazing! Such a shame they’re on a main road and kind of falling apart…
Vanina– I completely agree about the poor location. Obviously, they were there before the road was put in– but not such a dreamy view from the inside, is it? I imagine that there are more like this in London, not along the main thoroughfare. But these add so much to the drive!
