The winter came early for us in Amberg last year, and apparently it was an unusually cold and snowy one. I always have mixed feelings about the cold season, but it was all part of the adventure back then. When we were leaving Amberg on March 1st, the sun had just begun too peek out, although it snowed that week as well. It snowed in Italy, too. Then, when we got to Portland, it was raining, and stayed fairly cold through April. We moved to Bend, and it snowed and snowed and hailed and snowed… Now that it’s June, I’ve begun to get pretty cranky. But, after chasing winter around the globe for about 9 months, the sun is shining! It’s getting hot! We are eating all of our meals either on the front steps, on a blanket in the yard, or at the park. I love waking up in the morning to see blue skies and golden sunshine through the window. Woohoo!

There is something about four seasons of the year. And after I moved to California more than a decade ago I still miss it. I like spring season, enjoy the summer time, love the color of the trees in the fall. Can’t wait to watch the snow falling down during winter… Radka
