Last year around this time, I had a health scare that filled me with so much dread and really caused me to think about what it means to keep living each day. There is so much out there to discover, so much to feel and experience, and so many people to connect with. Not every day is a stellar one– some are incredibly painful, difficult or just dull– but I do my best to be present each day, paying attention to what and who is around me as well as what’s going on within me. I am not resentful of getting older. I am thankful to be here, and hope I am lucky enough to stay on this planet with the people I love for many more years.
I thought I’d share this video with you, a little meditation on intentionality in living, illustrated with jellybeans.
Today is a particularly good day for me to be alive– spending it with my family, in a beautiful and interesting place, enjoying some good food. What are you going to be enjoying this weekend? What do you want to spend your remaining jellybeans on?
