Morning Nourishment

I may receive a commission if you purchase something mentioned in this post. More details here.

I have had an exceptional morning.  I am finally in my own (temporary) home, all by myself for the first time in months, and, frankly, nothing feels more restorative to me than that!  I made the perfect breakfast of applewood smoked bacon, grapefruit, avocado, and coffee in a sunny kitchen corner.  A crossword puzzle and new music brought the hour to glorious heights for me.  Sigh.  It’s so good to be in my own quiet space, to be able to just think about what the day holds for me, to get lost in a good breakfast and a nice view out the window.

It’s been a really long time since I looked for and purchased new music.  Last night, I broke out of that funk and downloaded a couple of albums I am loving.   It was actually free, with a trial of emusic.com (this is not a sponsored mention, just thought I’d let you know it’s there!)  I am loving The Civil Wars and the new album from The Swell Season.  What have you been listening to lately?  I used to get introduced to new music by listening to the radio (KCRW) all the time, but I don’t really do that anymore.  Anyone I should know about?

What a wonderful way to start your day! We enjoy our slow breakfasts on the days Johnny homeschools but I need to remind myself to turn off NPR and put on some music instead. So, check out Alela Diane, I am also listening to Dolorean’s newest and the True Grit soundtrack because it’s one of the kids favorites right now.
