I don’t always remember the way I felt when I took a particular picture, but this one, at the beach in De Haan, brings back a flood of thought and feeling. It was just really surreal to be one of many, many families from all over Europe (and beyond) enjoying this gorgeous beach with the softest sand I’ve ever felt. The day was perfect, and as far as I could see, it was families simply enjoying the beach and playing in the sand and water. My thoughts were these: How wonderful to be here! How amazing to be one of these families at the beach today! How did this happen, to us of all people?
Have you felt like that recently? I’d love to hear about it.

You were totally in the moment, that is why it is so clearly etched in your mind. And, yes, I too have had those moments, when the mind is resting softly in the present, not projecting into the future or remembering the past. Lovely!

Love it! I felt similarly when I was swimming in the Riviera in Antibes. It just felt so surreal and magical to be there at that moment, surrounded by ancient walls, clear, warm water, and lots of topless sunbathers. 😉
