On the train leaving Amberg. |
I was just trying to decide whether I could keep this blog going, when I got the invitation from Blogher to be sponsored by them, and to join their network. This is really exciting for me, and was just the encouragement I needed to keep it up.

Here’s the thing: I know I’m not done traveling. We are still living unconventionally, even if we just signed a lease for a house in Oregon. I still have a unique perspective to share, as someone who grew up between cultures and is trying to get back overseas to impart that experience to my daughter. While we’re trying to enjoy relative stability here, Jeff just interviewed with a team in England, and we are anxiously hoping he gets the job. If that happens, we would probably leave in August. If that doesn’t go through, we will keep applying for every position that comes up in Europe. Even if we end up spending quite a while here, the goal is still to go back overseas. I can write about that, I guess. In the meantime, here we are, living in a beautiful and interesting place. Part of what makes this exciting is the understanding that it could be temporary, and we really need to take advantage of what is in front of us right now. My hope is that these adventures, regardless of geography, will somehow be interesting and inspiring for you as well.

I can relate. Seems like we’ve been in transition for years. Idea: You could find all the best secret spots only the locals know about and spill the beans on the best kept secrets in town: Food, history, daytrip spots, etc… Could be interesting!

Keep up the blogging. I understand that it’s difficult to find the same inspiration when you’re in a more “familiar” place, but I think your readers will find your posts interesting and your voice inspiring, no matter where you’re writing from.

Thank you for continuing to blog Ariana. No matter where you are I still want to see pretty pictures and hear anecdotes about your daily life. Btw, love the picture of sweet Mimi and here hat. =0)

You are such a gifted writer. No matter where we end up, it will be beautiful. You make it so wherever we go. I love you and anxiously await the adventures we have in front of us.

Great to see you blogging again, Ariana. It can be a challenge when the inspiraton is missing, but sometimes “just a little note” and picture can do. There is so much in the world we can experience no matter where we are, and everything happens for reason.
I thing you’re the women you were meant to be.

Thank you so much for your encouragement, everyone. Sometimes it still blows my mind that people, even strangers, care what we’re doing, and want to know what we’re experiencing. It’s a really, warm, supported feeling to know you’re right there with us, checking in and wishing us well!
